The Commercial Vocational and Continuing Education Center St.Gallen is an important educational institution of Eastern Switzerland in basic vocational education and higher vocational education. We train apprentices in about 40 professions and lead in the Baukaderschule and the School for Design a diverse range of courses and numerous courses at the level of secondary school in the continuing education sector.
In the technical department at the GBS , in addition to robots and electronics, computer scientists EFZ (systems engineering and application development / about 80 apprentices per apprenticeship year) are being trained. The School of Design St.Gallen is the most important and traditional educational institution for visual communication and creative-artistic basic and advanced training in Eastern Switzerland. It is part of the GBS St.Gallen and successfully positions itself in the continuing education market as a higher technical school for the arts, design and design.
On the one hand, the School of Design trains learners in twelve different professions in the fields of design, media and communication. New was opened with the Interactive Media Designer a new professional field.
The Higher Technical College also offers extra-occupational courses in visual design, interactive media design, photography, industrial design and visual arts. A broad range of offers, which trains in many areas in an interdisciplinary manner and thus optimally reflects the practical relevance. International exchange, competition participation and practical projects are part of the training.
The design pre-school course for young people is intended as an introduction to the world of creative professions in general and a bridge offer. The full- or part-time preparatory courses prepare for a degree, be it at the higher technical school or at a technical college.
